Yoga Classes

Ashtanga Yoga classes for all levels are held six days a week in a charming and intimate studio in central Tel Aviv. Both morning and evening classes are available, particularly Mysore Style Self Practice
Maya GrossThe studio is managed by Maya Gross, a dedicated Yoga practitioner who studied in Mysore with Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and traveled around the world to refine her craft. Maya also studied with well-known yogi's like Richard Freeman, Nancy Gilgoff, Aadil Palkhivala, Sharath Rangaswamy and many more.
The studio is located in a central (yet quiet) area in Tel Aviv, near Dizengoff Square. at 53 Gordon street. (Reines corner)

Maya is a certified therapist in the "Body Wisdom" system. developed by senior osteopath Anat Sheinman.
Body Wisdom integrates several techniques mostly from Osteopathy such as Somatic Therapy, Cranio-Sacral, Positional release and Trigger points therapy.

Descriptions of the classes:

Mysore Style Classes (great for both beginners&advanced)
The traditional way of learning Ashtanga Yoga is "Mysore Style". This is the classic way taught by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India.
In these classes each student has an individualized practice which is tailored by the teacher. Postures are taught one at a time, allowing the student to gradually build up a personal practice. It's rather like a private lesson.
Mysore Style is a highly meditative yoga practice that can be adjusted to suit age, health and flexibility.
Beginners typically practice 45 minutes approximately.

Ashtanga Basics
The Ashtanga Basics classes offer a practice that places emphasis on the principals and technique of the Ashtanga Yoga method.
These classes are for beginner levels of practice and are instructor led classes. The practice is relatively easy and suitable for everyone.

Individual Yoga Lessons
Private yoga lessons by appointment are available in Tel Aviv. also in English.
The foundation gained through individual yoga lessons will easily translate into Mysore class and your home practice.

Moon Days

The Ashtanga Yoga method is meant to be practiced six days a week. The seventh day is a rest day. Traditionally New Moon and Full Moon days are rest days too. The extreme polarities of the Moon's energy on New Moon and Full Moon days leave practitioners prone to injury. in order to view moon days 2010 please click here.
